If you have an older motor / engine, it’s always a good idea to change the crank seals as part of your preventative maintenance. Air leaks can develop over time through the crank seals and can cause a lean condition and serious motor damage. Leaking crank seals can also cause many symptoms of bogging and stalling, leaving you thinking there is something wrong with the carbs or electrical. If you’re not sure of your motor’s history, we always recommend installing a fresh set of seals.
